Locust
Valley, New York is nestled prominently on the
North Shore of Long Island in the Town of Oyster Bay. This quaint, unincorporated
hamlet is just one square mile in size but is rich in history and is
one of the Gold Coast's best-kept secrets.
Today, Locust Valley remains a community of individual shops where within
walking distance, one may find an astonishing variety of goods including:
antiques, jewelry, clothing, toys, books, art, galleries, fine foods
and spirits and much more. The merchants treat their customers like
friends; the welcoming atmosphere and charm keep people coming back
for more.
As a testament to its unique heritage and generosity, a monument was
dedicated to the residents of Locust Valley for its legacy in Operation
Democracy. Their continuing support in post WWII reconstruction (adopting
Ste. Mere Eglise, France as a sister city in 1947) is a heartfelt piece
of history that shows strength and inspiration.
Locust Valley has become a perfect setting of blending past and present.
The community comes together to celebrate events throughout the year:
a Taste of Locust Valley (January), the Dog Show (May), the summer Sidewalk
Sale (August), the Harvest Festival and Okoberfest (fall) and the old
fashion Christmas Festival (December).
Thank you for supporting the local businesses! It may be one of the
best-kept secrets but we love sharing it with you. The Members of the
Locust Valley Chamber of Commerce welcome you!
